AlgoTrim is delighted to announce that it has succesfully ported and integrated its code compression library into the Qualcomm MSM 6xxx family of chipsets. All operating system and application code is stored in compressed form in NAND flash, enabling up to 50% reduction in firmware size.

AlgoTrim's code compression module has been added to the build tool (Make file) of the chipset, so that the compression takes place without changing the build tool environment of the developers. The decompression module (decoder) was added to the boot loader thereby seamlessly decompressing the compressed code on system start-up. Due to the fast decoding speed no delay of boot time was oberved.
